Victoria
 Victoria,
the capital of the Province of British
Columbia, is known as the “City of
Gardens."
We are the vacation capital
and the premiere tourist spot in the Pacific
Northwest. This region is also the gateway
to Asia Pacific. Our city’s mild weather
provides residents with the opportunity to
walk or cycle year-round and enjoy a variety
of other outdoor activities including golf,
sailing, rugby and tennis, to name a few.
I am proud that we are also
known worldwide for our city’s ambience and
environment, having won numerous awards of
distinction for both. Victoria is built on
the rich diversity of our arts and culture,
education and business communities.
Located on the southern tip
of Vancouver Island, Victoria's unique
character is rooted in its 150 year history
- a history full of colorful people and
fascinating tales. ‘Old Town Victoria’ still
boasts many of the heritage buildings from
the turn of the century and the oldest
Chinatown on the West Coast, while more
contemporary developments reflect our city's
tremendous pride in its future.
