are Kid Kontracts? |

communicate with our children today, will shape their lives

Kid Kontracts
were developed by experienced counselling professionals to assist with
everyday agreements between adults and children living in a family.
Kid Kontracts provide immediate, appropriate consequences when the
child’s behaviour is not acceptable.
Kid Kontracts
are for children aged 2 to 18 years. The Kontracts and charts can be
completed as needed and displayed for easy reference. Space is
provided on each contract to suit each family’s uniqueness.
Kid Kontracts cover a broad range of
themes common to most families such as curfew, chores, television,
privacy, mealtimes, bedtime, dating, drugs and alcohol, friendships
and fighting with siblings.

do they work? |

The concept of
“contracts” is not a new one. Kid Kontracts are in an easy to use
format and offer an opportunity to change the way you communicate with
your child or grandchild.
Detailed
instructions on how to effectively use the Kid Kontracts are
included in the kit. It is important the Kontracts are
completed with the parent, grandparent or caregiver and the child.
To be used effectively, everyone talks about his or her feelings on
a particular issue and together decide on consequences of
behaviours. Expectations are clearly laid out and the child and
parent/grandparent signs the Kontract.
We believe the more tools a parent or grandparent has in
their toolbox the more enriched the family will be. Kid Kontracts
are designed to enhance communication between family members. We offer you an effective, easy to use method of dealing with many
issues and it is our hope that Kid Kontracts will
help decrease parent-child and grandparent-child conflicts from
early childhood through the teen years.
